EVS holds a master contract with Metro Transit and was asked to assemble an A/E team capable of assessing various Metro Transit buildings in the Twin Cities Metro area for their suitability to support rooftop solar photovoltaic generation equipment. We assembled a team of electrical engineers, structural engineers, and architects to investigate each building and determine the physical and electrical limitations that would apply to rooftop solar. The project was the first of its kind for Metro Transit and will be used as a pilot project to determine the potential benefit of utilizing their many flat roof structures to host solar PV infrastructure.
