Fort Benjamin Harrison Armed Forces Reserve Center

EVS provided Civil Site Design for the 1,000 member Armed Forces Reserve Center (AFRC) complex at Fort Ben Harrison, IN. The primary facilities include a 126,532 SF Army Reserve training building, a collocated 26,532 SF Area Maintenance Support Activity (AMSA) / Organizational Maintenance Shop (OMS) building, a 57,402 SF Navy Reserve/Marine Corps Reserve training building, and a 4,403 SF Marine Vehicle Maintenance Facility. Support facilities include a Deployable Medical Sets site, military vehicle and equipment parking lots, privately owned vehicle lots, and site access roads. The project implemented Low Impact Development strategies for managing stormwater runoff to mimic undeveloped conditions. The existing project area contained a multitude of previously developed facilities that required significant demolition and coordination between existing and proposed utilities.

The project was awarded a 2014 Concrete Achievement Award by the Indiana Ready Mixed Concrete Association for excellence in concrete construction of the vast parking lots.
